(Mis)interpreting the Tongue
(Dé)tourner sa langue is a show that subverts the traditional conference format. This hybrid work questions linguistic insecurity in Quebec, using language in theater as its foundation. What is our relationship with our language? Our accent? What are our complexes, our insecurities? Through language, it is Quebec identity that is dissected, in its wounds and its emancipation. With this mock conference, Klervi Thienpont invites us to an extraordinary humorous reflection made of poetic parentheses, memory bubbles, sketches, appointments with the therapist, karaoke, linguistic capsules, and many other follies! The 5 à 7 formula offers a show of approximately 60 minutes in our theater's rehearsal room, a drink, and chips for only $26 ($24 for subscribers).
